Born and raised in Grand Rapids MI, DJ/Producer Scott Christiansen, a.k.a. Kin Shijei, found himself near two of the greatest cities in our country, Chicago & Detroit. And while caught in the crossfire of two very unique sounds and cultures, Scott developed a style all his own, and since his discovery of electronic music in mid 1998, Scott has been perfecting his distinctively funky and creative style. Although house music is where Scott calls home, versatility is a definite strength demonstrated throughout his music. The name Kin Shijei is actually Navajo for 'house is my heart'. Scotts musical influences include, Richard Vission, Bad Boy Bill, Alex Peace, JJ Flores, The Chemical Brothers, DJ Icey, Mea, Dave Armstrong, and many more. Be certain that his mixing style and ability of going from one genre of house to another will always keep the crowd on their feet and jumpin! In early 2002 Scott founded Attic Static Productions, his first label. With the success of his first album Tonights Feature, the company made a name for its self in the electronic music industry. Followed by several more albums from Kin Shijei, SP Chase, & OBJ, the Attic Static team showed that they are here to stay, and here to make great music. Attic Static Productions is now a team of six, (S.P. Chase, O.B.J., Frank Frizzil, J-Dub, M4, & Kin Shijei) and is expecting a compilation album late 2006, and a single by Kin Shijei in early 2007. |
