Dj Metronix has been DJ'ing for eleven years strong and, in a profession that sees careers fade as frequent as day to night, he's definitely earned his acclaim. He first got his name out by spinning at backyard parties and selling various mixtapes throughout the city. In 1999, he chose to enter a competition that involved some of El Paso's elite DJ's. He was able to ease his way into securing a third place finish for a Power 102 DJ search at the ripe age of 17. Even though he didn't win, the city began to catch wind of the skills and name.
In a competition the following year, Metronix mixed his way to a first place finish which caught major recognition across the El Paso/Juarez club scene. This led to several guest spots at different clubs and events throughout the Sun City. Dj Metronix took the opportunity to become a resident DJ at Club Vallare from 2000-2006. Through the success of this popular night, Metronix was able to obtain residencies at Club Panache, Zone Nightclub, and Shark Bar, along with several guest spots at different clubs around the city.
In 2004, Dj Metronix was picked to be the next power mixer for POWER 102; a position Metronix aspired to reach from the beginning of his career. Riding the momentum of his newly acquired success, Dj Metronix became an official BUM SQUAD DJ in 2005. Along with the illustrious career in DJ'ing, Metronix also has a passion for music production. He has been producing music for several years in route to working with a good amount of artists from the Southwest region and it seems his track record expands with each beat he makes.
Metronix has always been fond of GOOD Music, which led him to create his own Underground/Old School Hip-Hop podcast show, FUYA RADIO. Along with co-hosts Zyme One and Metafisix, the show has gained critical acclaim and success for its music selection and cutting edge material. It is safe to say the show has a bright future in the coming years. Metronix has also solidified his determination and love for music by registering and properly maintaining his own FUNKINYATRUNK MUSIC GROUP imprint. Even though Metronix has created a career in eleven years that many will not see in a lifetime, he is far from accomplishing his ever-expanding goals and looks forward to the path he embarks on with his life and music in the future.
