| "DJ Hert - Freedumb" | |
| This is a short mix recorded in early November of 2000 for a promo giveaway at the Snowjob 2000 party. It was my first CD mix and was on the old Breakneck Label. Yeah, I don't really spin this stuff anymore. Although I think some of the tracks are a bit pussy, alot of people claim this as their favorite Hert mix. Maybe because alot of it is familiar. Original mix came with this insert: "It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right...Law never made mand a whit more just; and , by means of their respect for it, even the well-disposed are daily made the agents of injustice. A common and natural result of an undue respect for law is, that you may see a file of soldiers...marching in admirable order over hill and dale to the wars, ay, against their common sense and consciences, which makes it very steep marching indeed, and produces a palpitation of the heart." - Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience Not that most the kids who recieved the original gave much of a fuck about Thoreau, but maybe it gave them something to think about. |
