easy everyone..how go?
a blog cos i've not done one for a bit.
in the last few months i've been uploading mainly live sets.covered pretty much everythin now so next mix will be funky chill sounds for summer.proper hip hop,funk,soul,motown,reggae,house+breaks..i'm lookin forward to that muchly..if all goes well i'm lookin to broadcast from my garden+have some friends over :)
all mixes are now takin more hits than ever..currently up into the top 300 in the waxdj rankings with 1210 plays.this is down to the continued support from all over..big ups to vogue+all family massive.
new mixes today see 2 sets from 20th may 2008..1st electro/breaks effort is a good mix with only a tiny mistake here+there..2nd is a late nite dubstep mix..this one was unplanned but think i did well.little wobbles in places but remember what set up i'm using too! essentially some awesome sounds in here.
this dubstep mix is limited to 50 plays+downloads then it will come down..
enjoy the sounds+don't be shy with the feedback.i think my actual mixing has improved a lot.but you all hear it differently to me.

easy everybody..
how go?
3years ago i made my 1st attempt at production..an album made of loops+samples was the result+lookin back on it now it was pretty toss..
3years on i made a 2nd attempt..originally starting out makin dubstep i ended up with hip hoppy breaks+funky basslines with fx+samples a plenty.
the complete work is called fraction for reasons known only to me..
the 1st part of it is the earlier stuff - funkier with scratchin+more sampling..
the 2nd is newer stuff - these sounds are a touch darker+probably better produced.
the 3rd+final part is chiller sounds..these weren't originaly included..
in total there was 22 tracks which was cut down to the 15 that are on now..
unfortunatley the 15 as they are here on waxdj's are in 1complete unmixed track as i can't upload 15 seperate tunes..it is also only 192kbps..however if you'd like full quality 320kbps or aiff files drop me a line+i will glady sort it for you..

breaks mix went out live on www.voguefm.co.uk on 19th november 2007..
a mixture of older+newer tunes i like this one..very tight+some killer sounds.
we are currently looking for djs to fill the timetable on vogue so if you are interested give me a shout..do it all from the comfort of your own home whever you are in the world..

1 tech+1 electro..
sinilar to a lot of stuff i've been playing recnetly..good shit overall..
my regular slot on vogue is tuesday 7-9pm gmt..
you can also hear pretty much everything else on there at different times of the week+i hoghly recommend tuning in..
we also have spare space on the timetable at the minute so if you'd like a slot then contact the man mr.rem with a demo for an application+he'll see you right..
the stream is open 24/7 so wherever you are in the world there can be a spot for you..
i can recommend using th forums too..good crowd on there+all a welcome..

how go?
ok so 3 mixes for this month+maybe more to follow..originally i had 1 tech,1 electro+1 breaks mix in mind..after infuriating trouble with the breaks mix we end up with the tech,electro+a in a drastic change of style on my part a drum n bass mix..
at a house party last weekend i had a little dig with some drum n bass+enjoyed it much more than i thought i would..so with the breaks tucked away for a rainy day i proudly present my 1st dnb effort..its utter filth+doesn't breakdown anywhere..its full on filth mongering+i like it..you may well find me tanning more dnb from here on in..
the tech mix was as planned..getting more+more into my tech house..its easy to mix+the sounds are wickd..
the electro effort is similar to last months+i use a couple of the same tracks but with this one having the advantage of having 3 killer tunes b2b from 19minutes onwards..lovin electro at teh second+its probably temporarily overtaken breakbeat as my weapon of choice..
in order to have enough room for all 3 mixes they have to be 128kbps mp3 so my apologies for that..i ususally use at least 160 kbps but i felt it a worthy sacrifice..
some killer tunage down this month so enjoy the sounds+as always hit me with feedback..

as you may've seen at time the time of publication there is 2 mixes up on my page..1 my prefered breakbeat+the other is tech house..
the breaks one has been up for a while now..ruff breaks was done on a random+i'm fairly happy with it..theres some bad filth on it so all is well..i might well do a ruff breaks part 2 sometime in the near future..after that i might make it a trilogy..got some killer tracks on it including wax equestrion,krafty kuts,brothers bud+evil nine..nice tight miix+nice tunage.
the newer one is cleverley i think called tech-knowledgey..i covered on essential for dj turbo one night+wanted to play something different..i played some 4beat stuff..electro/house/tech etc..some nice sounds in there+the feedback from the chatroom+msn was wicked..when i'd finished i set about recording a tech mix..i went through a stage of tech+electro late last year+i'm glad i did..aswell as adding some valuable tunage i found out more about mixing..i think you can get away with a lot more mix wise..listen carefully to the set..theres lots of little mixing goin on here+there..i'm really happy with this mix specially seen as i don't normally play this type of tunage..i may well start playin more of it tho.
radio stuff is going good+continues as normal..feel free to check it out..
feedback from those who call themselves professional or just more advanced from me is well appreciated as always.

ok so this month you have a live mix from www.shedradio.com..this is the 2nd set i've played for shed but forgot about recording the 1st one so not to worry about that.
had the set ready for about 2months now..the 1st set i played was funkier so here i step up with some dirty basslines to kinda show my musical variance..
had a good buzz when playing this+we have some special mcing gubbins from breakfiend+mr.j.daniels..
i'll probably just start using all my live sets from now on but may well throw in the odd 'studio' effort now+again aswell..i'm live every other wednesday from 8pm with the other wednesday being occupied by breakfiend at the same time..
be sure to check out the other djs too..theres a decent cross section of everything musically+a really good crowd to chat to..

how go?
ok so 2 new mixes again this month..Day Breaks+Nite Breaks..as last month both mixes cover different styles..probably one of the best things about me djing is that i can play so many different styles+this has to be a good thing..
Day Breaks is a mix of hip hop,dub,old skool breaks+broken beat..i’ve realised more recnetly that with these kind of tunes the mix doesn’t have to be continuous+so here i experiment with that..it breaks down a bit+there are tempo changes here+there running between about 95+105bpm..altho i have a fair bit of this kind of tunage i don’t often mix with it but decided this would be cool for your summer months..its a dope little mix with that summer vibe about it..i like the intro+i buzz off ‘shelf wobbler’+all it’s shelf wobbling bass..
Nite Breaks is hevaier but nowhere near as heavy as it started off..it was originally raw nu skool breaks but when i was recording it i was having all sorts of issues so left it+played something different which i ended up liking so much i used it for my posted mix instead..the way out west,faker+matt cole tunes are all winners in this house+breaks effort..here i revert to my prefered mixing style running at about 134bpm..i like it because it isn’t the norm for me+tunes be a touch obscure..
like said i had some issues whilst recording..my decks are fucked+are currently refusing to hold the pitch for any length of time so apologies to those who can hear that..i also got beef with my sound studio settings which seem intent on making recording as difficult as possible..the biggest critic is yourself tho so maybe it’s just me being too picky..take a listen+make your own mind up..essentially all tunes on both mixes are dope enough so just use those as your main guide..at the end of the day i do this shit for a buzz not because i’m under any illuision that i think i’m the sickest dj to ever walk the earth..
i’m positive that my mixing is bang on - it’s just my set up that lets me down..the shopping list will be active soon..
in other news i’ll be making my shedradio debut on the 27th june+every other wednesday between 8+9pm thereafter so be sure to tune into that..i will be using a decent set up+doing myself far more justice with some ill nu skool break sounds..on the other wednesday my guy breakfiend will be playing so listen to him too aswell as any of the other djs that take your fancy..the web address is at the bottom of this page..
as usual i always like to hear feedback from those who term themselves professional so feel free to hit me up..

so 2new mixes this month both varied in thier approach..1st up we have a finger lickin mix..This is a mix of tunes from the finger lickin label..I have more finger lickin than anything else so to make a mix out of those seemed reasonable..this mix is a funkier effort easing you in with funk+electro before turning to the more important matter of breakbeat..includes trcak from soul of man,plump djs,war+d.ramirez..
the 2nd mix is a distinctive next level style mix..the more i hear this type of break the more i like it..i didn't really like this one when i posted it but am becoming quite taken with it..the last 15minutes are fairly awesome..if this is what is to come then i'm happy..the nubreed tracks are wicked..theres a guy called andy page who has pushed me more towrd this style break..andy page's work is almost genius..look out for his tracks+in paticular a tune called 'mr.rush' which is on uberzone's y4k..it's a sick track+different to anything i normally play..this mix starts off again with a funkier twist but quickly steps up to filthier levels..the tune called 'our break' features a guy chatting about breakbeat..initially you'll find this guy annoying but after a couple of listen you'll become a touch less harsh in your opinion towards him..he speaks sence+the tune thumps..tracks included from chemical brothers,random source,dub pistols,nubreed,poxy music+bassbin twins..keep an open mind+keep listening..you will find it more appealing each time you hear it+will dig it..
i have got a 3rd mix which i was posting but have decided to keep hold of it til next month..this includes a mix from the finger lickin set,remixes from the distinctive breaks set,an old mix revamped+some brand new tunes too..i like it very much+like said will be posting it next month..
in the meantime enjoy the sounds..

how go?
as cleverly stated in my title i've got myself a new account here with waxdjs..i've been djing for 15months+am hoping to hear from more established djs with thier views on my work+any tips that could help me to be a better dj..
having only been doing this for 15months i think i'm doing well espescially when considering how lame my set up is..it's ok to get started with+have served its purpose well but is in need of an upgrade..
i play pretty much anything but concentrate on my house+breaks..the 1st mix i've posted is in a breakbeat style+i'm fairly happy with it..to some of you it may sound a bit toss but like said when taken into account the fact i've not been doing it that long+taught myself form scratch i think its ok!
