| "Assumption Vol.12 - Platinum Anthems Edition" | |
| After the amazing reaction to our Second party i felt i had to put together a mix that encapsulates my sets for Assumption. I've put together a collection of old and new tracks that acheived fantastic vocal appreciation from the crowd as well as got you all moving. We start with Franck Roger's "Remember" that has one of those vocals that strikes so many chords for the house fraternity (thanks to Tito Pulpo for making me remember this one). Next up is the superb "The Light" from RAS showcasing the beautiful vocals of Ursula Rucker, this tune is pure class and, as laid back as it is, still creates and certain happy vibe on the dancefloor, just perfect. Following are a couple of soulful house tracks that keep the party bouncing. To get Michelle, Dawn and Laquana together was inspired, prepare for vocal performances that will uplift completly. "The Pressure" is a classic that will never grow tired in my eyes and this deeper version brings it back with a modern twist but still keeps true to the original. We go deep for the following part of the mix and kick off with the seminal "I Get Deep" a track that is so simple yet so effective in taking you into that deeper place, i continue to keep you there with Kerri's signature track "Bar a Thym" in it's original guise but with a vocal overlaid to focus the mind a little. Next up is a Mashup i've made, and one of my favourites from last year, "Dangly Panther" is superb and sounds great with "Harmony" laid over and judging by the Assumption dancfloor it's another favourite of yours. Next we come to what has become the Assumption anthem, there's not a lot i can say about Kem's "Heaven" that hasn't been said before, in my opinion it's the best House tune of all time and only ever creates a feeling of unity on the dancefloor as everyone joins in with Kem's beautifully perfect vocals - WHAT A TUNE!!! Hold on is an a slice of underground perfection and will get played by myself in every live set - Standard!. "Those Days Are Gone" is fast becoming a modern classic and so it should, Jocelyn Mathieu delivers a sublime vocal over and brilliantly put together house track, these boys are producing modern classics everytime they got into the studio and we hope to get them at Assumption in the future. Finally two class tracks that have an 80's street soul vibe that will always give you a smile on your face and a skip in your step. |
