| About |
DJ, Dancer, Electronic Music Lover, Dave Morris (aka DJ Madness) has used his creativity and love for music to destroy dance floors no matter where he plays.
Dave Morris as a DJ has made people from all walks of life forget the world around them and just dance for a brief moment in time. From his long running radio show on 88.7 WRSU FM to his multiple residencies at such clubs as Red Zone (NJ), Club Utopia, The Melody Bar, Gaebels and Level One. To his numerous special guest sets in some of the countrys most famous clubs and parties including Thunderground, The Tunnel NYC, Stingrays, Club USA, Limelight NYC, Club Sleep, R-Bar, The Roxy (NJ), Revolve, Club Platinum, and many more. He has brought pure energy and unity to the dance floors and all who have graced it.
His love for music started at an early age, growing up on a diverse formula of Disco, Gospel, Hip Hop, Motown and Jazz. His world was turned upside down when he was introduced to House Music in 1987, an introduction would forever change his life.
Dave embraced his new love with a passion and drive that would later propel him to the forefront of the dance music scene in the tri-state area.
Dave began DJing soon there after, first doing small house parties, school dances, and talent shows. His first real break came by way of friend and fellow DJ, Tajiri, who had started a radio show on 88.7 WRSU FM called Black Expressions, The Friday Night House Groove. Tajiri invited him up as a guest of the show which aired on Friday nights from 8 to 11pm. That invitation turned out the be a long lasting relationship, as the two of them along with Terry Miles, and Host Bruce Wayne, brought cutting edge underground House Music weekly to all of its listeners. The show would slowly turn into an outlet for Daves creative side, as he began to experiment with all different styles of House and Techno Music. Along side with Tajiri the two created the Liquid Love Culture side of the show that would expose listeners to different styles of House, Techno, and Drum & Bass, which they were not previously accustomed to, on the show.
WRSU was the best experience that I could have experienced that early in my career.
WRSU opened doors and opportunities for Dave to further his career as a DJ. From new residencies at some of the areas hottest clubs to guest spots at numerous different parties, raves and clubs.
Dave took a small hiatus from DJing and the radio show to pursue his career in Snowboarding. That hiatus would prove to be short lived, because he landed a residency at a local club in the resort town where he now lived.
Once back in the tri-state area for good, Dave got back in full swing by landing several guest sets at some of the areas best clubs, parties, and back at WRSU.
He teamed up with DJ / Producer Jay Goodwill of Gods House Inc. and Soul Society Records, to play a weekly party at New Brunswicks long running hot spot The Melody Bar.
The Melody was New Brunswicks main venue for all things underground and alternative.
It proved to be a great venue for expressing his talents and bringing his unique sound to a forward thinking crowd.
Currently Dave is throwing his hat into the production end of the business, realizing that in order for him to take his DJing to the next level, you have to make the tracks as well as play them. With the help of DJ/ Producer and friend Todd Gardner, he hopes to be gracing the dance floors with some serious chart topping hits very soon. He has also been seen working with some local talents, like Rami Abusabi who he also spun a very successful weekly Friday night party at Gaebels in New Brunswick with.
If his productions are fueled with the same energy that he brings to the turntables, he will become a household name in the world of dance.
If you have never heard Dave spin, then you have missed out on a great night of music, unity and energy. His diverse styles range anywhere from House and Tech House, to Drum n Bass and Electro. His ability to bring pure energy to dance floors everywhere he plays is unsurpassed, and should be experienced first hand.
